Simplicity and Remote Control
O.R.M.A. and Casella have designed an innovative, high-tech irrigation system designed to meet the needs of efficient and sustainable irrigation. Featuring an intuitive interface, the system is simple to use even for novice users, offering an easy and immediate experience that makes it easy to control daily operations. This design was developed to optimize consumption and ensure maximum efficiency while reducing water waste.
Both machines are managed by IdroMOP control unit, an advanced device that enables complete and centralized control of the system. With this control unit, users can monitor and change system settings remotely, using the App My ID4, which makes interaction even more convenient and accessible, wherever you are. The App also offers advanced features such as customised scheduling, real-time notifications and the ability to analyze usage data, thus improving irrigation management in a smart and efficient way.

Technology and Innovation
The heart of the new technology developed by ORMA is an irrigation system powered exclusively by solar energy stored in a green battery. This system, which is optimized for self-consumption, provides continuous operation both day and night, capable of coping with any weather condition and irrigation scenario. The use of solar energy minimizes environmental impact while ensuring high efficiency in performance.
Casella designed an innovative recovery system using a 24 V DC brushless motor, connected directly to the gearbox and sprocket. The system is controlled by a BLDC controller, operated by the computer used for irrigation. Power for the system is supplied entirely by a flexible photovoltaic system, installed on the machine and managed through an MPPT charge controller. The energy produced is stored in LiFePo4 lithium batteries. This solution combines the advantages of modern technologies, resulting in low noise, no pressure drop, and versatility, as it can also be used for slurry spreading.
IdroMOP supported the creation of both companies’ electric machines by developing dedicated software based on IrriMOP control unit. He also conducted research into the adoption of innovative materials, such as flexible solar panels, brushless motors, and custom battery design, ensuring customized, high-performance solutions.
The main objective is to optimize efficiency and ensure greater energy autonomy while minimizing consumption. This makes it possible to ensure a high number of consecutive irrigations, even with a minimum level of solar irradiation, promoting the sustainable use of energy and improving the performance of agricultural operations.

Energy Efficiency
One of the main aspects that O.R.M.A. and Casella wanted to improve concerns sustainability.
Through the combination of solar energy and electric motors, O.R.M.A. has made irrigation completely energy self-sufficient. This system significantly reduces the use of external resources and CO2 emissions. In addition, the machine can distribute water precisely, even at low intensity levels, to gently moisten leaves and soil, ensuring targeted and efficient irrigation.
The innovative approach of Casella also concerns the energy aspect of pipe recovery. Traditionally, fossil fuel engines or turbines are used to draw energy from pressurized water, but these systems have very low efficiency. With the new brushless motor and solar power, the system achieves much higher efficiency, reducing costs and environmental impact.

Conclusions: A Step Forward for Agriculture
The recognition received at EIMA 2024 is not only an award for Casella, O.R.M.A. and for the team IdroMOP, but also for our continuous search for technological solutions that can improve the sustainability and efficiency of agriculture. Collaboration between our companies has shown that by combining expertise and innovation, it is possible to create technologies that not only meet market needs but can also actively contribute to environmental protection.
We are excited to continue on this path, confident that the future of agriculture will be increasingly sustainable and technologically advanced. Many thanks go to our partners Casella e O.R.M.A. for their dedication and professionalism, and to all those who support us in our innovation journey.
