Most mobile network operators have already abandoned, or plan to abandon soon, 2G and 3G networks to free up bandwidth for 4G and 5G networks. The 4G network covers most of the global market, while the 5G network is the latest generation for mobile communication.

IdroMOP, aware of the difficulties and consequences that this technological change will have, proposes to its customers to adapt to the new communication systems with a massive campaign to trade in devices that use 2G and 3G wireless systems.

How and when these networks will be decommissioned depends on the economic interests of the multinational telephone companies and therefore cannot be predicted. In several European countries, this transition has already taken place some time ago; likewise, in several geographical areas of Italy the bridges of 2G and 3G networks have been eliminated leading in most cases to the inability to reach electronic devices using these technologies.

Action needs to be taken as soon as possible so that, overnight, people do not find themselves unable to remotely control their irrigation machines.
